In-store Asia 2026 highlights the dynamism of Indian retail
Trade show in Mumbai serves as a hub for innovation, store design, and international business connections
18.06.2026
“Anyone who wants to understand how innovation, creativity, and technology come together in brick-and-mortar retail cannot afford to overlook this market,” observed Elke Moebius, Global Head of Retail & Retail Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, during her visit to In-store Asia 2026 in Mumbai.
With 80 exhibitors and more than 5,000 trade visitors, the show reinforced its position as the leading platform for retail innovation, store design, visual merchandising, and in-store technologies on the Indian subcontinent. Over three days, international suppliers showcased the latest developments in retail technology, digital signage, shopfitting, POS solutions, sustainable design, and experience-driven retail concepts.
In-store Asia once again demonstrated the remarkable pace at which retail is evolving in India – and how the international retail market can benefit from that momentum.
Exhibition program: Trends in store design, visual merchandising, and retail technology
Two new formats were among the highlights of this year’s event. The Designers’ Village provided a dedicated space for creative retail design and visual storytelling, while the Retail Tech Integration area showcased solutions centered on AI, intelligent store concepts, and omnichannel technologies.
Crowd favorites also included the VM&RD Retail Design Awards and the VM Challenge. Several teams developed live storefront concepts under the theme “Little Worlds, Big Imaginations,” demonstrating the important role creative visual presentation continues to play in brick-and-mortar retail.
The conference program also addressed key topics shaping the future of retail, from changing customer expectations and the use of AI in retail to the role of physical stores in an increasingly digital world.
Highlights from In-store Asia 2026
A business platform with international reach
In-store Asia has long since become an important meeting place not only for India, but also for the broader Asia-Pacific region and the international retail community – a view shared by exhibitors as well.
Nidhi Khanna, CEO of Satin Neo Dimensions, and Ritika Mehta of Instor India described In-store Asia as an excellent platform for raising their company profiles and building high-quality business connections. Shreesh Sharma, Founder and Managing Director of GKW Retail Solutions, noted that new exhibitors, technologies, and products brought fresh energy to the event and were very well received by attendees. Hitesh Jain, Director of Cenzer Industries, particularly praised the show’s international visitor mix. Visitors from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well as Europe generated valuable business opportunities. In doing so, In-store Asia once again underscored its role as a cross-border business platform that brings together stakeholders from a wide range of retail markets.
